
Goshen Friends offers several enrichment activities as part of the Join the Club program. Below are descriptions of the clubs which will be offered to Lower School children during a six-week period, beginning the week of October 8. Please note the dates and times each club meets. All clubs will run from 3:15 to 4:15 on the specified dates.
1) THE DATABASE DUGOUT (for grades 3-5). Mondays-meeting six times (10/15, 10/22, 10/29, 11/5, 11/12, 11/19) 3:15 to 4:15. Teacher Scott.
Sign up for the computer club and learn to create a database that allows you to keep information (player’s name, team, year of card, value, etc.) about all your sports cards. We will obtain this information using the site: www.beckett.com. We will provide the cards and you get to keep them. You will be able to print your own personal sports card as well. Let’s start collecting!

2) KIDS IN THE KITCHEN (for grades 3-5). Mondays-meeting six times (10/15, 10/22, 10/29, 11/5, 11/12, 11/19) 3:15 to 4:15. Teachers Mimi B. and Stephanie.
There is much more to cooking than making a tasty meal. Part of growing up is learning self sufficiency in the kitchen. “Kids in the Kitchen” will reinforce safety strategies while sharing culinary tips and techniques. Students will be introduced to safe appliance use and food handling while learning to prepare breakfast, ethnic delicacies and dessert.

3) THE SEWING CLUB (for grades 3-5). Tuesdays-meeting six times (10/9, 10/16, 10/23, 10/30, 11/6, 11/13) 3:15 to 4:15. Teacher Susan.
Design and sew your own Japanese juggling bags with Teacher Susan. Learn how to cut fabric, sew on buttons and decorations and complete basic stitches.

4) CRAFTS GALORE (for grades 1-5) Thursdays- meeting six times (10/11, 10/18, 10/25, 11/1,
11/8, 11/15) 3:15 to 4:15. Teachers Devon and Barbara.
Do you have a passion for crafting or really like to create things with your hands? Crafts Galore will create six works of art that students will be able to take home with them. Parents are welcome to join the fun!!
