The Goshen Parent Community (GPC) is a group of parents that work together to enrich the experience of our children at Goshen. We celebrate whatever gift of time and service each parent can give to make our school the vibrant place it is. One of greatest benefits is helping our children but also getting to know each others families. Whatever your schedule looks like – if you think you can come to an hour meeting or take on a leadership role for an event – you are always welcome. Here is a little about what we do each year and our fundraisers:
HARVEST FAIRThe GPC plans an outdoor afternoon of fun fair games including bounce house, spin art and pumpkin painting in the early fall. This event takes place immediately following the 5K Walk/run.
INTERNATIONAL WEEKAll year our children study three countries. Their efforts to learn about the culture of other places cumulates in a week-long festival. The GPC works with the teachers to support the entertainment at One World Café. This year the GPC made possible the African dance troupe – an amazing performance that had adults and children alike dancing.
TEACHER APPRECIATIONEach year during grading periods the GPC delivers special breakfast or lunches to let the teachers know that the parents of Goshen realize the time and effort they have devoted to our children.
CLASSROOM PURCHASESThe GPC has made possible some extra asks by teachers during the school year. Past purchases include digital cameras for every teachers, smart boards and a keyboard.
BOX TOPSWe collect General Mills box tops – save those little stamps from your taco and cereal boxes (ask Grandparents to save too)! We want to hit $500 this next school year.
BOOK FAIREach Spring we partner with the Chester County Book Store; Teachers choose books you can purchase to donate to the classroom and you can stock up for summer with 20% going to the GPC funds.
COUPON BOOKSIn the fall we offer each family a coupon book for thousands (really!) discounts in areas retailers, restaurants and entertainment. Places such as Olly, Chic-fil-a, Eddie Bower, AC Moore, the Helicopter Museum, etc. make it easy to save more than the purchase price.
UNIQUE BOUTIQUEThis event brings in vendors who pledge a portion of their sales to the school capital campaign. We provide the venue, wine and appetizers to make shopping fun!
DUESEach family is asked for $40 each year to help kick off the year.
We promote peaceful conflict resolution, trustful relationships, and respect for individual spiritual growth.
