Application Process

Preschool:
Goshen Friends School utilizes a developmental approach to educating Preschoolers. Our daily focus is to present children with opportunities to grow academically, creatively, and socially. Morning classes are from 9:00 – 11:30am; with drop-off beginning at 8:45am. Afternoon classes are from 12:30 – 3:00pm. To further understand our Preschool program, please contact our Admissions Office at 610.696.8183 and arrange a tour. Our Preschool programs include:

  • Little Friends – Children turn 3 during the school year months of September through the end of January.  Children should be in the process of toilet training, be familiar with the bathroom, and comfortable using a pull-up. This class is offered on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Little Friends can begin to attend our Extended Care Program once they are fully toilet trained.
  • Three-Year-Old Programs – Children need to be 3 years old by September 30th and be fully toilet trained. This program is offered on Tuesday and Thursday mornings or Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings or afternoons.
  • Four-Year-Old Programs – Children need to be 4 years old by September 30th. This program is offered on Monday through Thursday in both the morning and afternoon.
  • Five-Year-Old Programs – Children need to be turning 5 years old no later than March 31st. This program is offered on Monday through Friday in both the morning and afternoon.

Kindergarten:
Students must be 5 years old by September 30th. Our Kindergarten is a half day program with an 8:00am drop-off, 8:15am commencement, and 12:00pm dismissal.

Kindergarten Enrichment:
An optional afternoon enrichment program is offered 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) per week from 12:00 – 3:00pm. This program is designed to reinforce the morning curriculum through additional activities and directed play.

Lower School (First through Fifth Grade):
Parents of students who are interested in Goshen Friends should arrange for a tour with our admissions director by calling 610.696.8183. The tour will provide you with insightful information about our curriculum and our community. Our school day begins with drop-off at  8:00am and classes commence at 8:15am. Dismissal is at 3:05pm. Busing options are available through local school districts.

Decision Status
The Admissions Committee meets to review the applicant’s complete folder. A letter will be sent to the applicant’s parents regarding the decision. For our Pre-Kindergarten programs (4 and 5 year-old programs), acceptance letters and enrollment agreements for new students are mailed in mid-February. Acceptance letters and enrollment agreements for our three year old programs are mailed February 1st.
