PreschoolGoshen Friends School utilizes a developmental approach to educating preschoolers. Our daily focus is to present children with opportunities to grow academically, creatively, and socially. Morning classes are from 9 a.m.–12 p.m., with drop-off beginning at 8:45 a.m. Afternoon classes are from 12:30–3 p.m. Preschool programs include:
KindergartenStudents must be 5 years old by September 30. Our Kindergarten is a half-day program, with an 8 a.m. drop-off, 8:15 a.m. commencement, and noon dismissal.Kindergarten EnrichmentAn optional afternoon enrichment program is offered three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) from 12-3 p.m. This program is designed to reinforce the morning curriculum through additional activities and directed play. Lower School (First through Fifth Grade)Our school day begins with drop-off at 8 a.m.; classes commence at 8:15 a.m. Dismissal is at 3:05 p.m. Busing options are available through local school districts.
The Admissions Committee meets to review the applicant’s complete folder. A letter will be sent to the applicant’s parents regarding the decision. For our Pre-Kindergarten programs (4- and 5-year-old programs), acceptance letters and enrollment agreements for new students are mailed in mid-February. Acceptance letters and enrollment agreements for our 3-year-old programs are mailed February 1.
Fifth grade graduates are effective communicators and creative problem solvers and approach transitions with self-assurance. They are not only prepared for a middle school setting; they are "ready" in every sense.
